Painting of Aberaeron
This is a "straight" painting of Aberaeron: about the popular Welsh holiday destination. There are no odd perspectives or ‘time-shift’ of buildings. I have used gouache and crayon to paint what could be an illustration to go with my "What I did on my holidays" essay which seemed to be a standard essay every September of my schooldays.
We didn’t have too many holidays when I was a child as Dad was often away. The number one holiday destination was though, always Wales: the Welsh coast. Newquay, Tenby, Saundersfoot and Broad Haven were also favourites.
The 50x40cm paper size is a modern metric equivalent of the standard imperial "Crown" size of sugar paper we were issued with in school.
